The Eagles head to west London on Sunday to face a struggling Chelsea side. Things however haven't been plain-sailing for Palace either in recent weeks. Aside from a 2-0 New Years Eve victory against Bournemouth, things have otherwise looked rather bleak for Patrick Vieira's side. The Chelsea game on Sunday also begins an extremely tough run of fixtures for Palace, as they face Manchester United and Newcastle United three days apart.

Chelsea have been the victors in the last 10 Premier League meetings between the two sides, with Palace's last victory coming in 2017. Despite this, Graham Potter's side are in a very poor run of form currently, losing to their west London rivals Fulham 2-1 on Thursday night, and having just one win in five games.

Team News

Chelsea are without new loanee signing João Félix due to a three match suspension picked up on his debut against Fulham. Midfielder Denis Zakaria is also unavailable due to a thigh injury picked up during the same game. Raheem Sterling, Reece James and Ben Chilwell all still remain out.

Palace have a boost at left back, with the return of Tyrick Mitchell after a three game suspension picked up on Boxing Day against Fulham.

Match Prediction

With both teams in poor form, neither set of fans will be particularly optimistic going into Sunday's game. Palace have a historically bad record against teams struggling for form, and I see that continuing this weekend. My heart would love us to grab scrappy away win against the former Brighton manager, but I see this going 2-1 to Chelsea.
