Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Charlton Athletic
What more can be said for Jes Rak-Sakyi that hasn’t been said already? With a lot of talk about finding our replacement for Wilf (should he leave in the summer), Jes could be the homegrown answer we have been looking for. Of course, this would take time, as the 20-year-old is still with plenty to learn; however, he shows huge promise.
With four goals in his last five games – bringing his total tally to 13 – the youngster continues to flourish in League One. He scored a brace against Burton Albion over the weekend at The Valley. The ace has also been nominated for the EFL Young Player of the season. As we approach the last stretch of games for this season, it will be interesting to see if the club intends to fast track Jes into the first team next season or send him on another loan – perhaps to the Championship for a greater challenge. London Online reported today that the club intend to use pre-season to assess Rak-Sakyi's development, and plan accordingly.
Rak-Sakyi's brace against Burton:
Scott Banks, Bradford City
Elsewhere in the lower leagues, Scott Banks has rediscovered his form for Bradford after a nagging shin injury kept him out for over two months. The 21-year-old scored the opener against Sutton on Saturday and has started the last four games for the Bantams. I really hope Scott can finish the season on a high, as I still see him having a part to play for the first team in the coming years.
Killian Phillips, Rob Street: Shrewsbury Town
Down in Shropshire, Killian Phillips and Rob Street continue their fine form for the Salops. Phillips scored a consolation goal for Town in their 2-1 away defeat to Barnsley on Saturday, but has had a quiet few weeks by his standards after missing three games through injury. Street has started four of his last five games, with his goal tally still standing at two.
Jake O’Brien, RWD Molenbeek
With Molenbeek pushing for promotion and currently sitting in 1st place with a one-point lead, Jake O’Brien is gaining extremely valuable experience in the Belgian league this season. The 21-year-old has started all but two games this season, keeping seven clean sheets in that time. The young Irishman continues to show excellent qualities, and we can expect another loan for him next season to further his development.

Luke Plange, Lincoln City
I’m not quite sure what to make of the Plange situation. He is yet to have an attacking return for the Imps and is struggling to gain much playing time. I believe there is a talented player there; however, he seems to be way off Premier League standard currently. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Luke at the end of the season.
John-Kymani Gordon, Carlisle United
After a very strong start up by the border, JKG has only made one appearance in his last six games. His talent is evident, however, it is likely another loan will be needed for the 20-year-old next season to further his development.
Malcolm Ebiowei, Hull City
Malcolm has started to gain consistent playing time for the Tigers, starting four of his last five games. However, he is yet to pick up any goals or assists and was hooked at halftime against Millwall on Saturday.
Remi Matthews, St Johnstone
The former Sunderland shot-stopper has comfortably nailed down the jersey for St Johnstone this season. Despite the Saints not setting the season alight, Matthews has managed to keep five clean sheets so far this season.
Malachi Boateng, Queen’s Park
Down in the Scottish Second Tier, Boateng continues to help Queen’s Park in their push for promotion back to the Scottish Premiership. The midfielder has started every game for Owen Coyle’s side, as he looks to finish the season with some silverware.
Dan Quick has made 4 appearances for Billericay Town so far, with Town currently sat 12th in the Isthmian Premier League.
Jack Butland is still yet to appear for Manchester United.
