Well, it's the big one.

After our 2-1 away defeat against Manchester United, a home tie against Roberto de Zerbi's Brighton side awaits us. We faced one way traffic against Man United in the first half, and looked to be out of the game. However we gave a better account of ourselves in the second half, with Jeffery Schlupp scoring to make it 2-1.

With our upcoming run of fixtures looking very challenging, a win would be a huge boost for the squad.

Brighton are currently 6th in the table, after an annoyingly good run-of-form. They are still yet to lose in 2023, also notably beating Liverpool twice in two weeks.

Team News

CPFC:

Patrick Vieira announced today that James McArthur is in the squad, and will be in contention for tomorrow. The Scottish midfielder has been out of the side since early July with a groin injury - with his absence noticeable this season.

Nathan Ferguson has also been training well for the last few weeks, with Vieira stating he's suffered "no stepbacks" (Edmund Brack).

Wilfried Zaha has been at the training ground this week completing his rehabilitation, but it is unclear if he will be involved tomorrow. There has not of yet been any update on Joachim Andersen.

BHAFC:

World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister returns to the side after serving a one-match suspension, with De Zerbi stating "[Alexis] Mac Allister will play tomorrow. He is a very important player for us." (Brighton Official Website).

Adam Lallana and Levi Colwill are both out, however Evan Ferguson is back in contention for the Seagulls.

Match Prediction

Despite our current run of form being significantly worse than Brighton's, we are undefeated against them in the last 6 meetings.

The slight worry that I have for this fixture is that with many players such as Wilf, Macca and Ward unlikely to start, there may not be many starters in this game that understand the true importance of it. However, this should be no reason for apathy as the players should be giving 100% each week, no matter the opposition.

My heart thinks we can win this, as it's at Selhurst and the odds are slightly against us - this is

often where we play best, but my head says this will be another draw for us. It will undoubtably be a tasty affair, but I think it will end 2-2.

Into 'em tomorrow boys, and up the Palace as always 🔴🔵
