At last, there is a buzz around the club once again. Last week’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Leeds made it two wins in a row for Roy Hodgson, with the possibility of extending this run to three this weekend against Saints. We haven’t managed three wins on the bounce since 2020, when Roy was last in charge.
We face a Southampton side who sit rock bottom of the Premier League and winless in their last five matches. Seemingly, the new manager bounce has worn off, after manager Ruben Selles won two of his first three games after his appointment in February.
Team News
CPFC:
Hodgson confirmed in his press conference today that Nathaniel Clyne will be out for tomorrow’s clash as he suffered a knee injury in training this week. Vicente Guaita and Wilfried Zaha also remain out but are battling to return by the end of the month.
Chris Richards makes a return to the squad after his back injury. Hodgson stated that it’s a “straight swap” (for Clyne), so we could perhaps see Richards involved in some capacity tomorrow.
SFC:
Selles told the press that Che Adams will not feature in tomorrow’s game. He also confirmed that Mohammed Salisu is out, alongside Juan Larios and Mislav Oršić.

Match Prediction
It’s so nice to have some confidence in the team again. I see us winning this one 3-1. Southampton are going to be desperate for points now, meaning they will have to go for this game. If we stay calm and play our football – like we did in the second half against Leeds – there is no reason we can’t win this game comfortably.
Safe travels to all making the trip down South – Up the Palace! 🔴🔵
